Smooth enrollment, clear process

I enrolled for the Certificate in Culinary Arts for the May intake. The online application was straightforward, and I got a confirmation email pretty quickly. Communication about the fee structure and payment plan options was clear from the start. They even mentioned the possibility of a partial bursary, though I didn't qualify for this intake. The campus visit before starting felt organized, and the staff answered all my questions about course materials and class schedules. So far, the instructors seem knowledgeable too.

Reliable for short courses

This was my third time getting a short course here, this time for Pastry. I did Cake Making last year. They're consistent. The online registration is always easy, and the class quality is good. It's nice knowing what to expect. No issues with payment or getting my certificate afterwards. It took about two weeks to get the final certificate after completion this time.

Good value, felt worth it

I was looking for a Diploma in Hospitality Management and found Sedney Institute. The early bird discount made a real difference on the fees. It felt like I got a solid program for a reasonable cost, which was important for my budget.

Is there any way to get a discount on tuition? Like, do they ever have promo codes or anything like that?

R Rachel H. 2 months ago

They don't usually do promo codes. But they have scholarships and bursaries, and sometimes early bird discounts. You apply for those directly.

O Omar 2 months ago

No codes, not that I've seen. But look into their scholarships or the group enrollment discount if you're joining with friends. That's how I got a little off.

Which one is better for hospitality, Sedney or Kenya Utalii College? Can't decide between them.

I Ivy M. 3 months ago

Sedney is pretty good for hands-on, practical stuff, especially if you want to get into the kitchen or front office fast. Utalii is more established, but sometimes feels a bit more academic.

R Ryan A. 3 months ago

It depends what you're looking for. Sedney's great if you want a quicker route into a specific role, like chef or F&B. Utalii might have a broader industry network, but both are respected. Maybe visit both if you can?

Anyone know if Sedney Institute has hostels? Trying to figure out accommodation if I join.

K Kate H. 2 months ago

I heard they do have hostel facilities, at least for some students. Might want to confirm with them directly for availability.

A Alex 2 months ago

My cousin stayed in their hostel during her pastry course. So yes, they do offer them.

Does Sedney Institute offer any payment plans? Or do you have to pay everything upfront?

R Rosa L. 2 months ago

They definitely have installment options. I did that for my certificate course, made it way easier.

N Noor Carter 2 months ago

Yes, installment payment plans are a thing. I think they even mention it on their site somewhere. It's not all at once.

Are their courses actually recognized? Like, if I get a diploma there, will employers take it seriously?

R Renee D. 2 months ago

Totally. They're TVETA recognized, which is the main thing for vocational stuff here. My friend got a job right after his catering diploma.

B Ben Doyle 2 months ago

Yeah, they're accredited by TVETA, so your certificates are legit for getting jobs in the industry. No worries there.

Thinking of applying for the Diploma in Culinary Arts. How long does that program usually take?

S Sarah G. 3 months ago

From what I remember, diploma courses there are generally about two years. Mine was, anyway.

M Megan 3 months ago

Yeah, pretty sure all the diplomas are two years of study, maybe a bit more if you factor in attachments and stuff.
